David vs. Goliath

“Rocky Mountain High” (with apologies to John Denver). The Colorado Fourteeners near and around Vail, Colorado always, but always, bring amazement and unequaled beauty to those who visit. Standing at the base of those mountains, gazing up at their sheer size and power, I truly felt like David facing Goliath, without the combative nature attached to that story. Towering to the heavens, they were breathtaking and intimidating.

Life’s challenges, ones that seem too big, too overwhelming, or too steep to climb appear to us from time to time. We all face them. Sometimes they come as health issues, business hurdles, family struggles, or those big decisions about what’s next. One of those mountains will appear in front of you in the form of deciding how to move forward in your career. Not to retire, but to rewire.

This idea of rewirement is about intentionally shifting from what from what you have always done to what you feel deeply called to do now. It is not about stepping away. It is about stepping up in a different way. It means using the wisdom, grit, experiences, and relationships one has gained over decades in business and channeling them into helping others scale their own mountains with more clarity, confidence, and strategy. 

Climbing a mountain doesn’t happen in one leap. It is one step at a time. And just like David’s strength came not from size but from purpose, ours does, too. If you’re standing at the base of your next big mountain, wondering if you’ve got what it takes, remember this. It’s not about conquering in one blow. It’s about showing up, stepping forward, and trusting the process. 

For myself, I’m not done climbing. I’m just climbing differently now.
